New Community Service Map

The City of Peterborough, Social Services Division is pleased to announce the launch of a new Community Service Map located at www.peterborough.ca/CommunityServiceMap. This is a web-based map that currently contains agencies and services related to “Children and Youth” in the City and County of Peterborough. Over time, the map will be expanded to other social and economic sectors.

The goal of creating the map was to increase awareness and access to local services.

The Community Service Map was made possible through a collaborative effort between the City of Peterborough and the United Way of Peterborough and District. All the information found on the map is based on the Fourinfo.com database which is maintained by the United Way.

This information is also available on the City of Peterborough website at www.peterborough.ca.

Help us prioritize potential actions!

For those of you who couldn’t make it out to the last round of Community Cafes we have developed an online survey to allow you to provide the same feedback. With the input received to date, we have developed some draft actions in each of the eleven theme areas of focus for Sustainable Peterborough, and are looking for your thoughts on which should become a priority.

Also, we’re looking for suggestions on potential partner organizations,  groups, businesses, etc. to help make these actions a reality.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete the survey by clicking here.

Toolset & Tools

The Sustainable Peterborough Plan will feature a number of tools to assist the community in its pursuit of sustainability.  The tools be a series of approaches, programs and initiatives, that can be adopted on a voluntary basis by each of the County’s Townships, both First Nations or organizations, businesses or individuals who have chosen to become community partners.  A tool is a process or decision making aide that decision makers, managers and individuals can use to achieve a particular goal or objective.
